CONCORD – The American Hospital Association (AHA), in partnership with the New Hampshire Hospital Association, honored Anne Jamieson, President and CEO of Portsmouth Regional Hospital, with the American Hospital Association’s Grassroots Champion Award today (May 6).

As a 2014 Grassroots Champion, Jamieson was recognized for her exceptional leadership in generating grassroots and community activity in support of her hospital’s mission.

“Anne Jamieson is an avid supporter of public policy issues that ensures patient access and enhances quality patient care – even when it may not be directly beneficial to her hospital,” said NHHA President Steve Ahnen. “She reaches out regularly to local, state and federal policy and political leaders to share the views of hospitals.

“Anne has served in various leadership capacities with the New Hampshire Hospital Association, most recently as Chair of the Board of Trustees,” Ahnen added, “and we at the NHHA have long appreciated her commitment to innovative thinking and looking outside the hospital’s four walls in the pursuit of common goals for all hospitals and patients.”

Rich Umbdenstock, AHA president and CEO said, “We depend upon strong voices like Anne Jamieson to help tell the story of hospitals as cornerstones of the communities they serve. This award is a small token of our appreciation for her hard work and dedication to improving health and health care in America.”
