Huggins Hospital's Second Quality Fair a Success (5/2/13)

WOLFEBORO — Huggins Hospital held its second Annual Quality Fair on April 23, 24, and 25. There were a total of 30 exhibits from a wide variety of departments who have worked over the past year on quality initiatives.

On Wednesday, the Quality Fair held its "Red Carpet Review" from noon to 2 p.m. Representatives from each department with an exhibit stood by to explain their project. Attendees included hospital staff, medical staff, hospital Trustees, representatives from the NH Hospital Association and the NH Foundation for Health Communities, and members of the public.

"The Red Carpet Review is a time for those departments represented at the Quality Fair to share their best practices," said Susan O. Warren, OT, CPHQ, the

Huggins Hospital Quality Coordinator. Employees throughout the hospital appreciate the Quality Fair as a time to learn more about what their colleagues in other departments are doing and how it is improving the overall patient experience. "A big part of quality improvement is using data to track work flow and efficiency," added Warren.

"Employees are taking the initiative to track data, identify issues, brainstorm possible solutions, and then implement their quality improvement plan," she explained. "Every employee is part of the quality equation from the medical/clinical staff to the housekeeping/maintenance staff."
