Exeter Health Resources named the recipient of the 2019 Noah Lord Patient & Family Engagement Award

BRETTON WOODS – The Foundation for Healthy Communities recently honored Exeter Health Resources with the Noah Lord Award for Patient & Family Engagement Award during its Annual Meeting recently held at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods.  Accepting the award on behalf of Exeter Health Resources was Dr. Robert Kelly, Family Medicine Physician with Core Physicians.

The Noah Lord Patient & Family Engagement Award recognizes the innovative work being done by Patient and Family Advisory Councils to better engage patients and families with Patient Family Advisors to improve patient safety, quality improvement and the patient experience in a NH hospital system.  The award celebrates efforts to create change through improving communication between patients, families and the medical team, and is designed to facilitate the sharing of success stories across the state.

The Foundation for Healthy Communities presented the 2019 Noah Lord Patient & Family Engagement Award to Exeter Health Resources for their efforts to improve the design and delivery of care for LGBTQ patients.  To ensure a positive patient experience, they formed the LGBTQ Health Advisory Committee to develop a plan to advance staff’s knowledge, sensitivity and understanding of how to work with this segment of their patient population and provide tools and strategies to ensure respectful, effective and patient‐centered care.

“The essence of this award is to recognize the efforts of our hospitals to enhance patient and family engagement and improve the patient experience so that they can better serve every patient, and we couldn’t be more pleased to honor Exeter Hospital with this recognition,” stated Peter Ames, Executive Director of the Foundation for Healthy Communities.
